Lovely Lavender

£5.75

A tea indulgence characterised by its lightness, which will cater for tranquillity and quietness not only in the evenings. Lean back, close your eyes and enjoy the moment... The bright yellow marigold blossoms and blue lavender blossoms charmingly decorate this blend. Blackberry leaves, apple pieces and fennel take care of the wonderfully mild, smooth flavour with a light sweetness. The caraway yields a hint of spiciness and the Melissa leaves add their pleasant freshness. The slightly flowery aroma of the lavender blossoms will caress your palate. An indulgence, which will enthuse completely without any added flavouring.

Great tea

More than bedtime blend

With lavender and melissa, I assumed this was going to be a last thing at night cuppa, but the absence of the real knockout soporific (chamomile cosh!) plus some digestive stimulants, (aniseed, fennel, caraway) made this seem a little different. Soothing, calming, certainly but more of a chill out than a knock out. And so it proved. I really want to congratulate the 'composer' of this one - it's an inspired, harmonious blend. Lots of different notes. Lavender (and possibly marigold?) give a little bitter edge, but the creamy sweet apple and the aniseed and fennel contain the bitter nicely. Rose hip and blackberry leaves give that citric sharpness. Nothing dominates, and the different elements join together. I really like this one. It's mellow. And with all those aperitive seeds, it could have been filed with ten teas Functional category. I certainly wouldn't drink this in the morning, but it's one for when the sun is over the yard arm! I love complex herb tea blends, and this one is brilliant. Quietly so. The colour is a delicate pale creamy yellow, and reminded me of primroses....
